Materials production and processing group
The main focus of the group lies on the development of new alloys, extracting metals from their ores to make refined alloys (hydrometallurgy/pyrometallurgy), and physical metallurgy, production methods such as forming, casting and additive manufacturing, heat treatment, joining, metal matrix composites, powder metallurgy and testing of metals.
The group is offering related courses on different degree programs, Bs, Ms and PhD levels. They have also been involved in tremendous amount of industrial projects as part of their mission to link between university and industry. The projects are focused on industry sectors such as Steel making, refinery, cement, car making, and aerospace industries.
